Can 60 Minutes Do the U.N.?

Max Boot in the L.A. Times poses the following thought experiment: What if the Bush Administration committed the crimes and misdemeanors that the U.N. and the U.N. Secretariat are accused of committing? How would the Mainstream Media (and the Democratic Party, which he admits is somewhat redundant) cover the story?

Many years ago, Big Media Journalism (such as 60 Minutes) would be ALL OVER such a story, wouldn't it? Yet they are still trying to drum up leads for the Bush in the National Guard story.

Even if they dislike the political overtones of covering stories tracked closely by more conservative reporters, aren't they interested in ratings? Viacom stockholders, take note.
